Dreamcast - NHL 2K Review FInally, an NHL hockey game for the DC that we are proud to say we own. NHL 2K is one for the ages with it's smooth graphics and sound effects. Thank you God! GAMEPLAY: 7.5/10 NHL 2K has good controls for you to make that one-timer or that bone crushing hit. There aren't many whistles in this game if you take the two line pass, icing and offside rules out, which I strongly suggest or else you will get nothing but whistle, after whistle, after whistle. We all know how much fun that is being disturbed everytime we get on a roll. SOUND: 9/10 The sound is like nothing else you have ever heard in an NHL hockey game. Commentators Bob Cole and Harry Neale make you feel like you are watching the game from the comfort of your couch on a Saturday Night. The crowd an players make you feel like you are watching the game from the uncomfortable seats in the actual arena. GRAPHICS: 7/10 Graphics in this game are semi-realistic. At first, I thought all the players looked really chunky looking but, once you get used to it, the graphics look great. Certain features like the glass shaking and the ability to hit the referee to the ice (by accident of course) make the game a little more realistic then it does on it's first impression. REPLAYABILITY: 8/10 This game is not like any other where you can play it for hours straight and then get tired of it and throw it on the bottom shelf and forget about it. You'll keep coming back looking for more seeing how the graphics and sounds are realistic, it becomes very addicting. Overall, this game is a great hockey game. The game could be better if there was an online multi-player mode or tournament mode for you to compete against friends or other DC fanatics around the world.
