XCOM: Enemy Within Arrives in November
2K and Firaxis Games have recently announced that XCOM: Enemy Within, an expanded experience of their strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, will be released in North America on November 12, 2013 and internationally on November 15, 2013.
XCOM: Enemy Within promises to add a great deal of new contents to give players of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a whole new experience. The expanded experience promises enough content that players will play through the game three or four times before encountering all of the new content, giving the game near limitless replayability. Some of these new additions include maps that provide new tactical challenges, new soldier abilities gained through the Genetics Lab, the addition of the new MECS soldiers who wear customizable mechanized exoskeletal cybersuits with varying abilities and weapons, and new additions to multiplayer mode such as maps, units, and abilities to broaden the range of custom units players can create.
Other new additions include new weapons and equipment in order to help the players’ soldiers stand a chance against the aliens. However, the expanded experience also has new aliens, such as the Mechtoid, heading to Earth; players will need to refine their squad strategies in order to effectively combat these new threats. There is also a new alien resource known as Meld that can be gathered on the battlefield and used to unlock new research and upgrades.
XCOM: Enemy Within will be released on Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Mac.
