
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion for the game, has smashed previous records by selling over 2.8 million copies within the first 24 hours of its release. This beats the record previously held by The Burning Crusade, the first expansion for World of Warcraft. Wrath of the Lich King was released simultaneously in Argentina, Chile, Europe, North America and Russia on the 13th of November. Mike Morhaime, the CEO of Blizzard Entertainment said, “We’re grateful for the incredible support that players around the world have continued to show for World of Warcraft.”
