The Last Story Coming to North America Very Soon.
Nintendo's successor to the Wii, the Wii U, is almost here but that won't stop Nintendo from releasing some of the best games for the system in its last true year as the leading Nintendo home console. The Last Story, developed by Mistwalker, and worked on by the creator of the original Final Fantasy, has been given a release date of August 14 in North America. The game received a very positive reception from players and press around the world and was released in Europe and Australia earlier this year in February.
Operation Rainfall, a fan campaign to get Nintendo of America to localize three popular Japanese role-playing games, had its wishes granted when one of the games on their list became confirmed to be heading to North America. This game was Xenoblade Chronicles and it was released in America on April 6 of this year, almost 10 months after the game was already localised and released in Europe and Australia.
Now, The Last Story will release in America, leaving only one title left, Pandora's Tower, on Operation Rainfall's 'localise list.' The Last Story and Pandora's Tower have both already been released in Europe and Australia, so it would seem unlikely that Nintendo of America would completely flat out ignore releasing Pandora's Tower at some point in time in the States.
