Sheltered Planned for PlayStation 4 Release
International games label Team17 and indie developer Unicube have recently announced that their post-apocalyptic survival game Sheltered will have a PlayStation 4 release. Sheltered was originally launched on Kickstarter and was successfully funded, with Team17 noticing it during its crowdfunding campaign.
Sheltered is a game about a family trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The family consists of a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter, and they have taken shelter in an underground bunker. The game features resource management as a major gameplay mechanic, with family members having to go above ground to the nuclear wasteland to find supplies in order to survive. They will need to contend with irradiated beasts, high levels of radiation, a finite amount of food and water, claustrophobia and other mental traumas, and more.
Sheltered is currently out on Steam in Early Access, as well as on the Xbox One Game Preview program. It is still receiving updates and bugfixes, with help from Kickstarter backers and early adopters. Developer diaries and video patch notes can be found here.
