Pokken Tournament to be Released For Wii U in 2016

The Pokemon Company International and Nintendo have recently announced that Pokken Tournament will be released for the Nintendo Wii U. The release date has been announced to be some time in Spring 2016.

Pokken Tournament was developed in collaboration with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Inc., the makers of the popular Tekken franchise. It seeks to combine the mechanics of traditional fighting games with the Pokémon universe, creating a game where two Pokemon duke it out in the arena using their wide arsenal of powers and the help of supporting Pokemon. Originally released for arcades, now Wii U players will have a chance to enjoy this game.

A new challenger has also been unveiled: Pikachu Libre. This character is based on the Pikachu Libre costume that Cosplay Pikachu could wear in Pokemon: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. While her moveset is not yet known, a trailer has shown that she will be able to use Flying Press.
