Pokemon Sun and Moon Announced on Nintendo Direct

A short Nintendo Direct aired today, broadcasting the latest news on the Pokemon franchise on its 20th anniversary. It has recently announced that the newest games coming out in the main series will be Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Pokemon Sun and Moon will be compatible with the Pokemon Bank. Players can transfer Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to Pokemon Sun and Moon. Additionally, players who buy Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, or Pokemon Yellow on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS can transfer their Pokemon to Pokemon Sun and Moon through the Pokemon Bank as well.

Pokemon Sun and Moon will be released in late 2016 internationally. Both games will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available in nine languages: English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

More information on the games will be released in the future.
