At GamesCom 2011, at the end of their keynote address, Sony slashed the price of its PlayStation 3 by $50 globally. It is now $249.99 in the U.S., 249.99 in Europe, and 24,980 in Japan. Andrew House of Sony stated that this price drop is effective immediately. Additionally, the 320GB model goes to $300 as well.
