Pathologic Reimagining in the Works

Independent developer Ice-Pick Lodge released their iconic game Pathologic back in 2005. The Western release was problematic yet the game still managed to gain a cult following. Now, Ice-Pick Lodge once again plans to revisit the game with a reimagining.

Pathologic takes place in a town ravaged by disease. The game tells the story of three different characters, each one having their own motive for coming to the town and different methods of dealing with the disease. Upon the arrival of one of the three characters, an epidemic breaks out and the entire town is put under quarantine. The player character will have to race against the clock to protect themselves and others against the epidemic, as well as dealing with the power struggle going on between the three major families of the town. They have only twelve days and much to do; they must learn to manage their time wisely if they want to save lives…

Creative Lead Nikolay Dybowsky stated that the team decided to revisit their iconic game because of its cult following despite the flaws present in the original game. In order to make the game as it was originally intended, the team has turned to Kickstarter to help gain funding. The Kickstarter page can be found here.
