Mortal Kombat Conquest: The Complete Series - Review

Diehard Mortal Kombat fans, myself included, with rejoice in knowing that Mortal Kombat Conquest: The Complete Series is now available on DVD from Warner Bros. Home Video. After more than fifteen years, the series is finally available for home viewing in the USA. It is now available as of March 31, 2015. The 22 episode series comes on 4 DVDs.

Unfortunately the series does not come with special features of any kind, similarly to the Blu-ray versions of the semi-recent releases of Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Despite that, I'm truly glad Warner Bros. is giving fans a treat and allowing us to rewatch the series in its unaltered form.

Conquest features Paolo Montalban (Cinderella - 1997) as Kung Lao, Daniel Bernhardt (The Matrix Reloaded) as Siro, Tracy Douglas (Boomerang - 1992) as Vorpax, Bruce Locke (Robocop 3) as Shang Tsung, Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) as Taja, Eva Mendes (Hitch) as Hanna, Jaime Pressly (My Name is Earl) as Mika, and Fabiana Udeni (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) as Kreeya. The acting is good, but seems cheesy at times looking back. It is interesting to see how some of these stars started off earlier in their careers. Definitely check out Conquest if you a fan of Mortal Kombat.

Disclosure: I was provided a review copy of Mortal Kombat: Conquest from Warner Bros. for this review.
