Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat on August 9

NetherRealm Studios announced their fourth DLC character for Mortal Kombat at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare On Elm Street will join the Mortal Kombat roster on August 9 as a downloadable character.

"Freddy Krueger "The Bastard Son of one hundred Maniacs" is a fictional character from the A Nightmare on Elm Street series of horror films. He was created by Wes Craven and has been portrayed by actor Robert Englund in every film until recently with Jackie Earle Haley taking the role. He is an undead serial killer and child molester who can attack his victims supernaturally from within their own dreams and nightmares.
