Fire Emblem: Fates Release Date Announced
The November 12, 2015 Nintendo Direct has recently revealed the release date for Fire Emblem: Fates. The game will be released in North America on February 19, 2016.
Fire Emblem: Fates is the story of two kingdoms: Hoshido and Nohr. Players step into the shoes of a customizable Avatar that is a young member of the Hoshido royal family who was kidnapped by the king of Nohr and raised as his child. The Avatar meets their Hoshido family members, but things take a turn for the worse when Nohr prepares to invade Hoshido. Both sides want the Avatar back, and the Avatar will have to choose which path they wish to follow.
The game comes in two different versions: Birthright, where the Avatar sides with Hoshido, and Conquest, where the Avatar sides with Nohr. There is a third path that is not available on launch date and will be released as DLC later; this third path is Revelations, and it will be an entirely new story that digs a bit deeper into what is going on behind-the-scenes. Players can purchase either Birthright or Conquest for $39.99, and they can download the other path for the reduced price of $19.99.
There is also a Special Edition that costs $79.99. This Special Edition will contain a cartridge with all three paths, a special pouch that can hold up to a New Nintendo 3DS XL, and an artbook.
