Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' Smashes Box Office
Remember last month when we told you about Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' coming to theaters? Well, it did and it was epic! FUNimation Entertainment has announced that in the first two days of its limited theatrical release, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' has booked back-to-back box office records.
With only an additional 6 theaters showing the movie after opening night, it still managed to gross a combined revenue of $3.5 million in the two days. And with the movie holding onto 1st place among the Top 10 with a per screen average of $1,724, dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' has far eclipsed the total 8-day box office ($2.8 million) of last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.
Michael DuBoise, EVP and COO of FUNimation stated that they are "ecstatic not only tat our fans love Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' but also that our theater partners have embraced it. Together we have a chance to break into the Top 10 list of anime releases of all time."
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' runs through August 12th and FUNimation hopes that one day, with the continued support from fans and theaters, they will stand alongside Disney and the legendary Hayao Miyazaki and his blockbusters, Howl's Moving Castle and The Wind Rises.
