Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers Release Date Confirmed
Atlus has recently confirmed that the release date of the updated version of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers for the Nintendo 3DS will be on April 16, 2013.
Originally released in 1999 for the PlayStation, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers takes place in a world that is connected to a gigantic electronic network where virtual worlds give people all sorts of experiences that normally cannot be conceived. However, within this world lies a secret organization known as the Phantom Society that seeks to steal the souls of the world’s inhabitants. A group of hackers known as the Spookies have risen up to oppose the Phantom Society, though they will have to call upon the might of mythical beings such as demons, angels, and even gods to help them.
The remake for the Nintendo 3DS promises several new features in addition to voice acting, new demons, smoother animation, improved controls, and quicker loading times. One of these new features is the demon Nemecchi who, like another demon from the original game named Zeed, does not gain experience points conventionally; instead, Nemecchi gains experience through StreetPass, changing forms as it gains power.
The game will also feature new bosses as well, some of them familiar faces from other Devil Summoner games.
