Caretaker Enters Steam Greenlight

UK-based developer Xiotex Studios has recently announced that their upcoming game Caretaker has entered Steam's Greenlight phase.

Caretaker is a sci-fi adventure game that combines exploration, stealth, environmental puzzles, and narrative. The protagonist wakes up in an alien structure, alone and having no idea what has happened. Apparently the alien structure was responsible for sucking the life out of all the stars, and the protagonist is an instrument of vengeance against the one responsible. The question is: will the main character destroy or save the universe?

The game is narrated by David Hewlett, the actor who played Dr. Rodney McKay in Stargate Atlantis. The narrator is the only guide that players have as they navigate the immense alien structure, a place filled with many levels and secrets. The game seeks to be a sci-fi puzzle where the environment not only challenges players to advance, but also to survive. Players have the ability to destroy threats as well, but destruction comes at a great cost, so players will need to learn how to be stealthy.

The game can be played in virtual reality on the Oculus Rift, but it is not necessary to play the game in VR.

The game's Steam Greenlight page can be found here.
