Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC Announced

The “Invasion” DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts has had its release date announced: July 3, 2014. The pack will contain four multiplayer maps and the third chapter of the game’s Extinction storyline: “Awakening.”

The multiplayer maps include “Departed,” “Pharaoh,” “Mutiny,” and “Favela.” “Departed” takes place in a rural Mexican town during the Day of the Dead celebration; players that complete its Field Order can unlock the Death Mariachi killstreak, which turns enemy players into allies with each kill. “Pharaoh” takes place in an ancient Egyptian palace filled with traps; completion of its Field Order unlocks Anubis, jackal-headed god of embalming. “Mutiny” takes place on a remote Caribbean island; completing its Field Order unlocks two ghost pirates who will aid the players. “Favela” takes place in a Brazilian shantytown from a previous game; a Y-8 gunship can be called on by players who complete the map’s Field Order.

In “Awakening,” the team descends into the alien underworld to launch an attack on the Ancestors. They must make use of their hi-tech weapons, hi-tech equipment, and all of their wits and skills to make it to the Ark and find out the secrets behind the Ancestor’s powers.
