Alone to Make Use of Oculus Rift

Greenwood Games is currently developing a horror game called Alone, but with a bit of a twist: they want to blur the lines between reality and fiction by making use of the Oculus Rift 3D Goggles.

Alone has the characters first playing a game within the game known as “The Witching Hour.” However, what started off looking like a shooting game suddenly turns bizarre as the player soon begins to experience things in the house: strange noises such as dragging sounds and whisperings begin the grow in frequency, but players are left at the mercy of their imagination and paranoia as they are unable to leave the couch.

A Kickstarter page is up and allows players to download a ten minute demo of the game; the developers mention that the full game will be about thirty to forty-five minutes long, about the length of a television series episode. The goal of the Kickstarter is to earn about $25,000 with stretch goals being the localization and further developments. Note that one needs the Oculus Rift 3D Goggles, headphones, and an Xbox Gamepad to play the demo.
