NIS America has recently announced that they will be localizing Nippon Ichi Software’s RPG game The Witch and the Hundred Knight for the PlayStation 3.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight puts players into the shoes of the Hundred Knight, a legendary warrior contracted to the Swamp Witch Metallia. Sick of being unable to travel beyond her swamp, Metallia seeks to spread her swamp throughout the land of Medea; the Hundred Knight’s job is to do what she commands by wreaking havoc and destroying the Pillars that protect the land from Metallia’s swamp. However, the Hundred Knight wonders a few things: what is preventing Metallia from leaving her swamp, why is she shunned by the other witches, and is she someone to fear or respect?
Players can equip up to five weapons to build combos, use the Mystical Dodge feature to slow down time by dodging enemy attacks at the last moment, devour foes to remain in Metallia’s service longer, and switch between ‘facets’ to better suit battles with certain foes. The game will also have dual audio options so that players can enjoy the game in both English and Japanese.
The game’s official website can be found here.
To celebrate the 11th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI, Square Enix has announced that there will be two new campaigns to welcome back returning players.
The first campaign is the “Vana’diel Experience Campaign.” Inactive players will have their accounts reactivated and be able to play free of charge during the campaign period. Players that want to participate in this event will have to have an inactive PlayOnline account that is also transferred to the Square Enix Account system. This campaign begins today and will end on December 23, 2013 at 6:59 AM Pacific Standard Time.
The second campaign is the distribution of the Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition trial software. This software will be distributed for free until 6:59 AM Pacific Standard Time. Do note that the bonus in-game items available through purchasing the retail version of the software will not be available for this campaign. Players who wish to continue playing after the trial period is done will need to purchase an activation code here.
There will also be several additions to the game introduced in the December Version Update. A new Trust System allows players to take famous personalities in Vana’diel on their journeys, new content for solo players have been introduced, characters get a 25% movement speed increase outdoors, teleportation between home points will be possible, an in-game currency menu has been added, Wide Scan can now be used regardless of job, there is an increase in availability of the Mog Gardens, and several other features.
